Will there be only Digital Tachographs in the future?

With the entry into force of the Regulation (EC) n°2135/98, new registered vehicles will only be fitted with digital tachographs.

Since there is no retrofitting of existing vehicles with digital tachograph, for many years companies will operate with mixed fleets of both analogue and digital tachographs.

Within AETR countries, traditional analogue tachographs can installed on vehicles until 2010.
